How to Use Massage Stones
Heat crock pot on low temperature between 120 and 150 degrees, filled with assortment of massage stones, half-hour before use. Use slotted spoon or tongs to pull out stones needed. Test temperature of each stone on your forearm and adjust temperature on crock pot accordingly. If massage stone is too hot, dip it into bowl of cool water. Optionally, place some stones into bowl of cold water for later use on face.
With client, mentally divide body into five areas in following order back of legs, back, face, arms when body is facing up and front of legs.
During focus on back of legs, place small stones between toes that will rest comfortably but not fall out.
Rest golf ball-sized round stones on palms.
Place medium palm-sized flat stones on various areas of exposed body parts not currently being massaged. For example, on one leg, place flat side of stone on middle of calf, back of knee, middle of thigh and upper thigh while you massage other leg. When focusing on upper back, place massage stones on lower back and sacrum. Arrange stones so that they do not slip off body nor crowd up against each other.
